Quick Tips for Answering Interview Questions

Use the STAR Method

For behavioral questions, structure your answer around Situation, Task, Action, Result. It keeps your story clear and impactful, and interviewers love it.

Be Specific with Numbers

Whenever possible, quantify your impact. Instead of "improved sales," say "increased monthly recurring revenue by 23% in six months." Numbers make your experience real and memorable.

Prepare for the "Weakness" Question

Choose a real but manageable weakness, explain what you're doing to improve, and pivot to a strength. Example: "I used to over-commit; now I use a prioritization framework that has actually made me more reliable."

Have 3–5 Stories Ready

Identify key moments from your career — a challenge you solved, a team you led, a mistake you learned from. These stories can be adapted to dozens of different questions, saving you from memorizing scripts.

End with a Question

When the interviewer asks if you have questions, always say yes. Ask about team culture, success metrics for the role, or recent challenges. It shows genuine interest and turns the interview into a conversation.

Record Yourself

Use your phone to record a practice answer. Listen for filler words, pacing, and clarity. It feels awkward at first, but it's one of the fastest ways to level up your delivery.
